Un-Complicated
Happy Wednesday everyone!
Today is indeed a happy day for the hubster and I. We officially own a cottage which means the “complicated, the ridiculous and the absurd” that we’ve been dealing with since the beginning of June is finally done and to say that both Jeff and I are GIDDY is the understatement of the century.
Tomorrow after work we will take out some of our “cottage doodles” so we can be ready to go for the weekend!
I should have some cottage photos for you come Friday…And of course, all weekend too
AND every weekend after that from now until it’s too cold to be out there, which, HOPEFULLY will be October!
I began my Wednesday with a 5km run! As I was running I couldn’t help but think about last year. At this point in the summer I was eating 15km runs for breakfast! Now, I’m counting down the kilometers as soon as I take my first stride. It’s not that I don’t still enjoy running because I do, and I thank the Universe everyday for being physically capable of running, I just don’t have a desire to push myself to run longer distances anymore.
Anywho
Breakfast today was some much craved dark chocolate natural peanut butter toast with some of my all natural strawberry jam!
Lunch was a plate of garden leafy greens (thanks AC!) topped with homemade greek dressing and on the side was the last of my amazing ratatouille!
And some aqua melon…
Well now I’m off to enjoy the first day in while that has had NO phone calls from lawyers, real estate agents, insurance agents, personal bankers or branch managers.
Tonight we are getting groceries for the weekend and I’ve got to make a COTTAGE CAKE (this time, it will actually be for the cottage…Last week’s cottage cake turned out to be “drown our sorrows” cake
)
See you tomorrow!

I am not a runner myself, but my husband loves it. However, he says that the 5K is the perfect run – long enough to feel good but not so much that you are going to have to have knee surgery someday:)
I agree, it is a perfect run. It’s enough for me to be ugly and sweaty by the end but not feel like I am going to die when the stiffness sets in…
You can tell your hubster he is one wise cookie
Super-exciting for you! So how far away is the cottage from home?….just wondering.
It is a 45 minute drive! Technically I COULD stay out tomorrow night, sleep over, go for a run down the transcanada trail on Friday morning then commute to work…Now, I don’t think I want to do that but it’s an option.
It’s a super quick drive all things considered!
Congrats on finally getting your cottage!! I can’t wait to hear more about it.
Thanks! You will be begging me to shut up about it soon enough
Yeah for the cottage!! How exciting!
I know!!!! I look forward to after work today…when we can unlock the door for the first time!
Yay, Katie! Glad the cottage drama is behind you – it’s all good times from here, baby! Enjoy your first few days at the new weekend hide-away. Can’t wait to hear all about it next week.
