Shout Sister
Happy St. Patrick’s Day Everyone!!
I’m currently watching Californication with the hubster but I thought I’d give you a little Friday/Saturday recap while doing that
Yesterday my work had a little “St. Patty’s Day” shindig!
I made Irish Cream brownies…They were beyond delicious!
Made with Bailey’s Irish Cream! These were definitely an indulgent treat!
My Purolator dude and afternoon Courier got a very special treat too!
I also made Jefferson and his coworkers some scratch chocolate cupcakes (no boxes cakes for this chickadee!!) filled with a white chocolate mint ganache and homemade buttercream frosting (none of that pre-jarred stuff!).
Jeff did request green spindle dinkles…I did comply with that request unfortunately!
Yesterday evening I met my dear friend Miss Janet for dinner and a show!
Nothing on the menu was jumping out at me and I wasn’t in the mood for heavy comfort-type food (which is what this particular restaurant is famous for) so I decided to go for the appetizer platter! The next few photos are from Jeff’s IPhone. Thus the shottiness
I ordered Chickpea & Vegetable dumplings (I took one bite and decided I disliked them…They were bland yet full of curry…ick!) and shrimp spring rolls (good!). I ate all 3 of them…
and bruschetta (also good). I ate 4 toasts and the majority of the bruschetta and guacamole.
The platter came with their homemade fries which I ate a few of but they weren’t amazing…So I left the majority of them.
It’s really a shame I ordered this platter…I left so much food it was sad! Wasted money, wasted food!
BUT the best part of the meal was definitely my Rock Creek Dry Cider Beer!
The show we went to at Globe Theatre was FANTASTIC. Truly, truly remarkable! It was a musical show about The Boswell Sisters that took place in New Orleans in the 30′s. The costumes, the set, the piano…AMAZING!
My lack of supper left room for dessert at intermission
Thank you for yet another awesome date Janet! Have an awesome, safe trip to Florida!
My Saturday began with a slice of toast with peanut butter…
And some yoga! There’s nothing quite like starting your day with yoga. It’s refreshing, relaxing and challenging!
After yoga I did some studying (getting closer to that diploma!!) and had lunch.
On the plate is a grilled cheese, spinach and onion sandwich, an apple and some sweet mix pickles! Needless to say it was grocery day and as such I had no produce to speak of in our fridge!
We then continued on our day with some car washing, grocery shopping and whole wheat veggie infused turkey lasagna making!
AND a taste of the tropics for dessert! Recipe to come!
Well now I’m off to enjoy some more hubster time.
The weather is GORGEOUS here so tomorrow I might just go for my very first run of the season!
Happy Saturday!

Awwww “hubster” time
SO cute!
Babe, I miss our chats!!!!!! XOXO
Everything looks good in this post though
You seem very happy! Can’t wait to hear if you go for your first outdoor run!?
xoxo
I miss it too! I’ve been so busy that I haven’t been able to dedicate AS much time to the blogosphere! BUT some time is better than none right?
I didn’t go for my first outdoor run yet…I remembered I’d worked out 10 times from Monday to Saturday…I figured my body needed a rest!
Mmm..all that St. Patty’s baking looks divine! I made some mint Oreo truffles that were party darn tasty too!
I’m sure they were! Oreo anything are awesome
My mouth is watering for that lasagna!! Sounds like your weekend is going pretty good!
That lasagna is one of the best things that comes out of my kitchen….It’s truly incredible! And I LOVE that there is an entire massive butternut squash, zucchini and red pepper in it!
