Frazzled and Dazzled

Posted by Katie on Jan 18 2012 at 07:55 pm

Happy Hump Day everyone! And what a busy one it was at that!

All day I felt frazzled, on edge and unfocused!  I hate that feeling.  I just couldn’t seem to shake it and as a result I had a very unfocused yoga class this evening…But I do have Bambi Legs Syndrome nonetheless

This morning I started my day with Leslie Sansone’s  3 Mile Slim & Sleek workout. I’m always super dozy and wishing the end would come during the first 5 minutes or so but then the fun starts!  The workout is just long enough for me to feel an energy surge but short enough that I’m not tired afterward.  Perfect for the morning!

After my workout I made myself a to-go breakfast!

*Note to Self:  Drinking ice cold smoothies when it’s -40 outside will cause you to be FREEZING from the inside out all day…Even after the 12 cups of hot tea.  Use your noggin Katie! ;)

In the smoothie this morning are the usual suspects.

1 cup Silk’s Original Soy Milk

1 cup frozen mixed berries

1 banana

1 truckload of spinach ;)

1 teaspoon Vega Choc-a-Lot protein powder (because I love the chocolatey flavor!)

1 teaspoon Epicure’s Cinnamon

And on the side I had one of my Pumpkin Cranberry muffins!  Doughlicious!

After a whirlwind of a morning, lunch/study time came!

On the plate is DAZZLING egg salad atop of spinach atop of a slice of whole grain flax bread, broccoli and tomato salad and an ambrosia apple!  The egg salad was by far the best thing I ate today!!

Rainbows taste yummy.

As for the studying, I’m learning about the metabolism right now and I am FASCINATED!  I love it!

Well now I am home from yoga and I’ve got to get lunches made and recycling ready for tomorrow!

What was the BEST thing you ate today??

    Hi Katie,

The best thing I’ve eaten so far today is some nonfat Greek yogurt with home-canned peaches in light syrup. I had it as a snack before going out to dinner, so I am not famished, and make good choices. It was yum!

Hey Mary! Isn’t greek yogurt absolutely fabulous???

I’ll take some of those peaches please ;) Home Canned anything and I am there!!

That is a fantastic method when going out for dinner. You certainly do make healthier choices when you aren’t starving! Thanks for sharing!

  2. I love making eggs on top of greens, yummmmm!
I’m hoping we get some metabolism tips from you!!!!!!
And LOL about the smoothie, i do that all the time, today was oatmeal with apple butter, should keep my belly warm all day…. or until i have my post workout smoothie :) :) :)

      Me too!

Well I’ll see what I can do about those tips ;)

I just can’t stop myself from making smoothies for breakfast…I think it might be an illness ;)

During the week I love the convenience of them! On the weekend, when I DON’T go out into the cold and I can huddle under a blanket ALL DAY I don’t have the desire to make one.Go figure!

I made Jeff oatmeal the other day and it was divine…I ate so much of it a while back that I hit my “no oatmeal zone” but I think I might be warming up to it again.

      Enjoy Thursday!

Man your egg salad always looks AMAZING! :P

  4. Aren’t our bodies just amazing?! The metabolism and how it works is seriously cool.

P.s. I feel the SAME way about smoothies—I am all hot and sweaty and want something ice cold….but then I step outside. BOO. Maybe a warm smoothie is in our futures?! Haha

  5. Love the look of that egg salad! I haven’t had it in so long. I’m craving it now!

I love drinking smoothies too and wish it wasn’t so cold so that I can drink it in the morning for breakfast! :)
