(Not So) Blue Christmas

Posted by Katie on Dec 18 2011 at 09:55 am

Happy Weekend everyone and Merry Christmas #1!

We are about to watch a movie (Jonah Hex) so I am going to post a photo recap! I’m not one to photograph every single bite but rest assured, I have had more than my share of indulgences!  Enjoy!

Friday:

Rory Allen, an Elvis impersonator from Regina, SK!  He’s so dreamy!  We were like little giggly school girls!  Thanks for a wonderful and final 2011 date Janet!  You are a gem!

Janet and I!  PS IPhone photos SUCK.

A note to Rory from Janet…

He loves me

After Rory we drove out to my folks place!  And promptly went to bed…A few glasses of wine for someone who very rarely drinks, well, that does me in!

And then Christmas began bright and early on Saturday!

Jeff before coffee:

PS nice slippers honey.

Jeff after coffee:

Me (and Rudolph) enjoying a decaf mocha and a butter tart:

PS these are my “goal jammies” from 2008.  Jeff bought me size XL jammies and I couldn’t fit one butt cheek into them.  From that moment on, I knew my life would never be the same.  And it hasn’t.

The FOOD was awesome!  Most definitely full of treats!

From our bake-a-thon…

Snowflakes (my grandma used to make them and my mom made them for the first time in years this year!)

Noodles and Saur Kraut (a traditional German dish)

Sneaky Cinnamon Bun with cream cheese icing!

Breakfast scramble…

Some nog…

A table…

Some company…

A classic Christmas movie…OK in my family it’s a classic ;)

Christmas dinner!

A cabbage roll, brussel sprouts, sweet potato, feta and watermelon and onion salad (MMMMM!) and dressing!

Christmas dessert!  A yule log!  Chocolate wafer cookies, cool whip…A childhood favourite.

Once, as a child, my mom made this dessert and our two cats decided they wanted to dig in…We ate the other half ;)

And breakfast this morning!

Fruit with yogurt fruit dip and a sneaky cinnamon bun with icing!

Now I’m off to enjoy Christmas day…Then it’s back to a week of work and then another Christmas!

Enjoying every bite and looking forward to salads and smoothies,

Katie

Yum, that cake looks really good! I remember reading about your ‘goal’ pajamas and as soon as I saw that picture I wondered if the ones you were wearing were the same ones- how exciting! What a great feeling :)

    • It was good!

Something as simple as a pair of $20 jammies from the supermarket really puts things into perspective for me. The devastation I felt when I pulled as hard as I could to get the pants over my knees…Wow. Now they sag and I love them!

  4. your christmas looks amazing! every bite of it… and congrats on the goal pjs. they are adorable. :)

Thank you for a fun final 2011 date night, Katie! Too cool! Looking forward to our next date night in early February. Too bad we didn’t take photos of our fab dinner at La Bodega – that was one of the tastiest dinners ever. Your chick pea patties, my chili salmon, and our shared chocolate fondue … simply delish! Merry Christmas, babe!
