Another One Bites the Dust

Happy Weekend everyone!

I am happy to report that our bobcatting project is complete(thank you SO MUCH dear brother in law!) and we are ready for phase two!  Another weekend gone….WAY too fast too!

Here’s a recap of our weekend festivities!  I did what I could on the photography front…I didn’t do well though

Backyard Before:

Backyard After(I’m on the deck deciding on paint colors for the house AND vinyl siding colors):

Here’s what we decided on for the exterior of the house!

I will paint the stucco the dark brown and the front of our house (where the current ugly siding is) will be the sand color!  Different but good I think!

Saturday morning I woke up at 6:00 am and got to work to feed the family!  Here I am all groggy sporting my FAVORITE fleece jammie pants…

Sidenote-I have about 8 pairs of fleece jammies…I consider them all favorites!

On the menu?  Whole wheat and bran pancakes (from scratch of course), turkey bacon (which Jeff LOVES but I don’t eat), toast, fruit and hashbrowns!  Can you believe I didn’t take one photo?  FOR SHAME!

I enjoyed the company of this little guy for a bit…He’s a handful but so darn adorable!

Then got lunch ready for the boys, my sister-in-law and mother-in-law!  The lunch spread was sammiches, pickles, cheese, turkey sticks, pineapple, cherries, pop chips AND THESE!

OH and PS I didn’t take a picture of our lunch either!!  I failed this weekend on the blogging front…MISERABLY.  I’m really sorry guys!

These cookies were a very last minute “dessert” idea and they were AMAZING!  I’d never made them before and I can tell you that I ate many of these and will eat many more!  OH! And guess what?  I didn’t take pictures of the “making” process! Big shocker there this weekend…But in all fairness, Jefferson had the camera to take yard pictures…Mind you I still had my point and shoot camera but that’s completely beside the point.

These cookies were healthy, hearty, chewy and just slightly sweet.  It was a VEGAN recipe that I DE-VEGAN’d because I used regular milk instead of almond milk.

Don’t worry, I will be making them again with a tutorial ASAP!  Everyone and their dog needs to try these cookies…They were DEADLY!  Even Jeff thought they were amazing, and, well you already know that’s a good sign!

Saturday night Jeff and I got to spend about an hour alone so we spent it eating Chapman’s frozen yogurt and watching Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution.  Heaven.  Then in bed early I went!

This morning I woke up, ate 2 leftover pancakes from yesterday covered in raspberries, blueberries and 1/2 a banana and a touch of maple syrup!

I knew we were going for brunch later this morning but needed something to tide me over!

There were no pictures taken at brunch (big surprise there!) but it was basically a whole schwack load of fruit, some cottage cheese and beans(as in baked beans my very favorite!)…There was TONS of options to choose from but nothing I would want to eat so I chose boring sides ;)

This afternoon Jeff and I went to Home Depot, Rona and Homesense to look at house stuff (bought nothing which is AWESOME!) and then went for supper!  I didn’t want to cook today…Entertaining guests sure takes a lot out of a person and I was more than happy to have someone else cook for me tonight!

I had a couple of these:

And a greek salad with half of this avocado brie melt!  I saved the other half for tomorrow’s lunch!  That sure makes for easy lunch packing!

Jeff’s folks came over this evening to plan for next weekend’s SHED BUILDING extravaganza and then it was off to get some of this!!

Creamy Caramel Frozen Yogurt!  It was incredible!  Even Jeff said he might change his selection next time and that guy doesn’t ever change his selection!  He lives by the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” way of thinking…

So that takes me to this very minute where I am fighting to keep my eyes open…So much for typing up my Crockpot Chronicle!  Geez!

Well I am off to bed to rest up for tomorrow’s early morning run!

I am SO happy to be getting back to my routine…Until Thursday when the madness starts all over again!

Goodnight!

He is a cute little booger! They are always a handful when they are that small. But a barrel of laughs too :D
