A Random Day
Well the week has flown by hasn’t it??
HaPpY fRiDaY!
Earlier this week I confessed whole heartedly to my closet habit of releasing my inner Bette Midler while driving. A characteristic I am very proud to possess I might add
On my drive to work today I played the “reach into the CD binder and pull out a completely random disc, put it into the player and enjoy the random musical entertainment that will soon ensue” game. One of my favorites! What will it be this time? Gershwin or Metallica?
OK so that might be a slight exaggeration but not by much!
I happened to grab the “Oh Brother Where Art Thou” soundtrack which was refreshing…So of course I played “You Are My Sunshine” because it always makes me smile…Well…Except when they started singing the sinister lyrics such as “but now you leave me to love another, you have shattered all of my dreams…” WHAT?? I swear I don’t remember those lyrics when we used to sing that song around the campfire as children…
As mentioned yesterday I was stuck at the office until around 11:30 last night so needless to say my entire morning routine was out of whack today…Lunches weren’t made and strategically planned cereal bowls weren’t laid out for the next morning’s breakfasts (yes I actually plan which bowl I want to use UNLESS I am feeling random and select one the next day
). So rather than enjoying my bowl of delight while catching up on blogs I had to scramble lunches together so I could get to work early to make sure all systems were working.
Speaking of my bowl of delight:
In this funky bowl were 2 shredded wheat bundles, 3/4 banana, a sprinkling of homemade granola, a splash of pom seeds and some homemade PB and Jam(well the jam was Crofters…and fantastic I might add)
Breakfast was pretty much the only thing so far in my day that isn’t random. Lunch is a completely different story!
I must apologize for the terrible photos! I was stuck in a terribly lit room and my little point and shoot camera (in a combination with my growling tummy) just wasn’t up to the challenge.
Some protein! I’ve been eating Edamame for a long time but never did what the cool kids do, which is sprinkle it with salt. So I tried it out…Feeling rather random today and all…
Truthfully, I prefer eating edamame without salt…Though I think next time I am going to try one of Epicure’s Sansels…That has potential!
And let the randomness continue!
Along with my edamame I had a huge plate of romaine topped with carrots, zucchini, cucumbers and pom seeds with some Italian dressing, an orange and 2 mini slices of bread with crofters!
This morning in my mad rush to get to work early I just decided I was going to stop for a second and think about what I am craving. This is exactly what I pictured…and let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint!
Who knows what the rest of my day will bring…I was hoping to get groceries for this weekend’s KiTcHeN eXtRaVaGaNzA but we’ve got a winter storm going on currently!
Perhaps this is life’s way of telling me to live it with a little spontaneity!
I am just going to chalk this day up to one word. Random.
If you had to chalk up your day today in one word what would it be?

I had edamame for lunch too! But mine was thawed frozen shelled edamame and it was in a salad. Hmm…one word for my day? Relief….I am a teacher…and now my March Break has started!
Edamame is such a neat food! It’s delicious AND packed full of protein…Undeniably versatile!
PS I am VERY jealous of you right now….I am looking forward to seeing what you are up to on your break!
Today? FOOD. I’ve eaten samples of a lot of food at Expo West today. Now I have a full/hungry belly….meaning that I’ll keep eating, although I’ve eaten a lot.
Ha well have a sample or two for me!
We love edmamae with salt around here!!
Awesome! It really is a goldmine!
