The Hardest Part is Over
Mondays are by far the toughest day for me to wake up early and workout. I attribute that to the fact that Saturday and Sunday are my days to sleep until 7:30 (ish) so 4:40 sure comes early on Monday! But you know something, there is typically only 1 day in the week that I am actually woken up by my alarm clock and Mondays are never that day for some reason. Otherwise my internal clock is automatically set! My body seems to just get back into the groove whether my brain wants it to or not
I always feel like if I can get through my Monday morning workout and feel fantastic by the end, I know I’ve succeeded and the rest of my workout week will be a breeze! Well I did…and it will be!
My breakfast this morning was juicy!
In the mix were 2 shredded wheat bundles(I KNOW! BIG SHOCKER!!), a crumbled green muffin, ½ of a banana and a healthy serving of pom seeds. I absolutely love the fruity explosion that pom seeds provide! You will notice that something is missing though. Peanut butter!!!! I figured I had enough to keep me going in this little bowl of satisfaction so I WILLINGLY left peanut butter out of the equation. What. Was. I. Thinking??? I will say this, I always notice a difference when I don’t have peanut butter in the morning. I seem to get hungrier quicker. When will I learn?
Lunch today was a rainbow of sorts. So much good stuff on one plate, where to begin??
Today’s lunch spread was a homemade hummus flat bun with lettuce, tomato and a few cucs for good measure. With of course some veg on the side and some citrus to calm my always-raging sweet tooth. The hummus was by far the star of the show! The paprika added such an awesome smokey taste. LOVE it!
This is one of my very favourite lunches which is why you will see me eat it quite often. This lunch typically makes an appearance twice a week.
Well it’s another brutal cold day out there folks, currently ringing in at -33 degrees celcius…YUCK. I definitely see some bean & veggie infused butternut squash soup in my supper future…
What is the toughest day of YOUR week to get motivated to workout?

Your breakfast bowl looks fabulous! And I just checked out your green muffin recipe, which I’ll have to try…zucchini season is still a few months away, but when it arrives I find myself scrambling to find as many zucchini recipes as I can!
My hardest day to get motivated for my morning workout is definitely Saturday–the weekdays are easy because they’re part of my before-work routine, but it’s the weekends that kill me
Those muffins are really awesome…The flavor is an intense, moist, apple cinnamon flavor.
I totally get the Saturday workout issues…I normally take Friday and Saturday off and when I try to get motivated to do SOME KIND of activity all I want to do is lay on the couch…
4:40! WOW! I get up at 5:45 several days a week to workout before work and that’s always rough for me!
I know it’s crazy! But isn’t it awesome getting your workout over with before your day even starts?? Nothing better!
I’m barely rolling over in bed at 4:40 AM. LOL! WOW! You’re awesome! I wish I was a tad more of a morning person.
